Peacock Proud

Turquoise is such a rich color! I especially love turquoise jewelry. And, how cool to be a peacock and get to be "dressed" in turquoise all the time. One of the Verve release week challenges was a color challenge: turquoise, grey and black. So I grabbed this gorgeous image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff called Flourished Peacock. I used some blue green copics and Aqua Stickles to give the peacock hints of color and loads of shimmer. I didn't have a black flower so I created one with a copic marker and an airbrush kit. Then, I spritzed some glimmer mist on it to give it a slight sparkle, too.
Lindsay's got a couple of new sets in the shop. Be sure to pop in and check these out. If you're looking for a good sale, head over to My Grafico where everything, including Lindsay's great designs, are 25% off today and tomorrow.
Need more inspiration? Be sure to check Lindsay's blog and all the ladies of the fabulous design team! The cold weather is keeping us all indoors heating up the craft rooms with creative energy!
Have a zippy kind of day!

Pumpkin Girl

I found this adorable FREE digistamp at Simply Inger. She has some beautiful images for free and she has some she has donated to a charitable cause. Visit her blog to see all her fabulous talent.
This card was created for the Copic Creations Challenge which was to include pumpkins. I printed out the image onto GinaK White Pure Luxury cardstock and colored the image with a wide variety of fall colors. The papers are from two different sets: PTI's Autumn Abundance and Basic Grey's Recess. I needed some fall colored flowers but didn't have any, so I grabbed some plain white (actually they are more cream colored in appearance) Prima flowers and airbrushed them with copics. These flowers love copics and an airbrush system. I've tried other methods of coloring them in, but nothing really worked until I used the air compressor. Now I want to color them all the time. I may have to go back to Hobby Lobby and get some more even though the package contained 72 different-sized flowers. (Goodness, what if I run out!!) Where's my coupon, lol!

Fall Thoughts

I am soooo ready for FALL, but it refuses to get cool around here. Even the little cool front that is heading our way will probably stall out about the time it gets down here. I know come January I will regret wishing for colder weather, but I absolutely love fall and wish we could get a hint of it. In honor of the season, all my cards lately have included some shade of orange and the funny thing is, I don't really care for orange all that much!
On a more serious note, one of the design team members lost a dear MIL this week. This card will be mailed to her. My project for today uses a journaling block from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Creepy Crow set. Since I really dislike my handwriting, I added a stamped sympathy sentiment to the journaling lines. I cut the circle with a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and with the paper still in the die, I colored the whole image with my copics and an airbrush kit. I used three FALL colors to create the colored background.
The sketch for this card is from the Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #36. LSS is sponsoring them this week so you have a chance at winning 10 digital stamps from Lindsay's store. What a great way to build up your collection! Be sure to visit their site and link up a project using this week's sketch for your chance to win.

Lot's of great stuff going on at LSS and Lindsay's blog today. There is a brand new SET in the store that is just perfect for Fall. The set includes leaves and several sentiments perfect for all your cardmaking needs. Lindsay will be featuring this new set on her blog along with a freebie (of course) and a great tutorial on how to change the color of your digital stamps. This will definitely come in handy! And, if you haven't heard the news yet, Lindsay has a new nephew. So, to help welcome him into the world, LSS has the Babies and Bows Collection at 50% off. This is certainly a great week to be shopping at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!
